ABOUT YEO-SU
   Yeo-su, located in southern part of Korea, is receiving attention since it is nominated as the host city of 2012 expo. Then, it would be better if you learn about Yeo-su before you visit the city in 2012 (although you might not come, you may see Yeo-Su in any news program :D in 2012 .)

    Yeo-su is both environment- friendly and developed city. Although many parts of Yeo-su are developed, environment of Yeo-Su isn't damaged that much as you can see in above pictures(Sun-rising scenery in Yeo-Su/ Dol-san Bridge in Yeo-Su.)


     Also, there are many things to watch in Yeo-Su.

Namsan Park and Jasan Park, which has a magnificent view of Odong Island and Yeosu Port, are places where local residents go to find rest and peace of mind.

 Yeosu city is blessed with beautiful sea resources and landscapes. 

Famous for camellia flowers, Odong Island is located in Korea’s oldest National Hallyeosudo Marine Park.

 Jinnamje is Yeosu’s most famous cultural event.

Then, What does 2012 Yeosu Expo plan for? What is goal of its exhibition?

LIVING OCEAN AND COAST : Diversity of resources and sustainable activities     Preservation and Sustainable Development of the Ocean and Coast

       Cutting-edge Maritime Industries and Technologies

      Creative Marine Activities and Cooperation of Humankind. 

 - Inform all future actions regarding our oceans.
- Find the balance between production and consumption while preserving diversity of resources, species and culture.
- Identify ways to resolve challenges facing the ocean with advancing technology and shedding lights on human's knowledge through this expo.
-   “The Living Ocean and Coast,” will pave the way for reaffirming global effort to resolve the problems and damages of ocean.
    

VISION OF 2012 YEOSU EXPO

A Vision for Restoring Life to the Sea and Coast

- Sea level rise, the loss of biodiversity, acidification and pollution 

- Restoring sustainable life to marine environment is the responsibility of the entire global community.

A Vision for Green Growth

-The sea is green engine for future growth.
-Its abundant resources and potential provide important research into bio- and nanotechnology.

A Vision for Cooperation

-The sea offers a new frontier for global cooperation in order to realize harmonious coexistence with the marine environment.


These visions and themes of Yeosu Expo seems very nice and greatly motivated, but the point that we all should focus is not the overview or appearance of this expo. The most important thing is whether Korea accomplish these tasks, at least achieve one sincerely or truly. In order to support the accomplishment, I think, many people should pay attention to Korean Expo 2012.

WHAT IS EXPO?????!!!!!!!! 엑스포란 무엇인가????????

EXPO

   Expo is normally referred as World Exhibition. 

World Exhibition is hold by several countries which signed in 'Treaty of International Exhibition'(contracted in Paris/in 1928) in order to advertise its own industry, culture, and other commodities; therefore, they improve mutual relationships with other countries. 

    Expo is mostly considered as property of countries; however, many industries and companies open such exhibition to advertise themselves. Thus, 'Expo' is developing more than ever it did.
